Cookie Express

Cookie Express is the largest fundraiser of the year at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Washington—and a joyful, whole-church endeavor that brings everyone together.

Held on or around the second Saturday in December, this festive event transforms our church into a winter wonderland, decorated to the nines and filled with the scent of fresh-baked goodness. Church members of all ages bake an incredible variety of homemade cookies, cakes, breads, and our famously delicious cheese straws—each item beautifully packaged and ready for holiday gift-giving.

Every dollar raised goes straight back into our local community, supporting a wide range of ministries and nonprofits. From camp scholarships and school supplies for students and teachers, to food assistance, disaster relief, and other 501(c)(3) organizations, the list of those blessed by Cookie Express is long and meaningful. It’s a beautiful expression of generosity, joy, and shared purpose—one cookie at a time.
